Local hotel undergoes extensive refurbishment
One of our recommended ‘where to stay’ venues the Bartley Lodge has been transformed with a galleried lounge, a new snug lounge, reception, residents bar and the Lyell suite of conference and function rooms. This gives the Bartley Lodge the stately and impressive feel the building deserves.

The Balancing Act of Riding
October 2010: Fleetwater’s owner and ABRS instructor Jane Henderson hosted a lecture and demo about how your body position, balance and movement effects the way your horse moves and responds to your aids. Jane was very pleased to welcome so many people on a sunny, but very chilly, Sunday afternoon. The seminar set out to help our guests find simple ways to help correct the way they sit and move on a horse, and learn how giving the horse freedom to move allows it to find its own balance. In our experience by simply correcting position this helps to solve many of your riding problems. “A big thanks to Catherine for her assistance with the demonstrations and to everyone who took part, we hope to be running more of these sessions very soon” concluded Jane.
